What people call talent is actually made up of two things: the aptitude we are born with (measured on a sliding scale); basically how we are “hard wired” — and the skills we develop built on that aptitude’s ‘foundation’. Someone with a moderate level aptitude for, say sports, could perform equally to someone with a higher natural aptitude who didn’t bother to hone his or her skills. Same for music or art or math, or any of the different kinds of aptitudes.
Everyone has a full set of aptitudes, just not necessarily all at high levels. Some will be higher and some lower within the same person. And the best way to explore our “talents” is to try different things. Currently they don’t have tests that can pinpoint all your strengths and weaknesses, so you have to explore on your own.
